LIGHTLY SWEETENED THOUGHTS

  • "There are no shortcuts... in life, or in love. This pain must be felt, the alternative is much worse. It's what makes us special, what makes us beautiful, what makes us worthy. The pain of how we love. But that pain is accompanied by something else, isn't it? Hope. With your pain, there is hope. And that is where you are. Somewhere between agony and optimism and prayer. So, you're human. You're alive, and that's what we have."

The one where I Fall All Over Myself

While catchin' up on all my daily reads I left the following comment on a particular favorite, Mom-101

As countless many others undoubtedly have mentioned, your brilliant and hilarious blog is a favorite daily read for me. Just wanted to drop a slightly less than quick hello and say thanks for the great read. Us mini-bloggers with 7 or less readers (all blood relatives) look up to you impressive, accomplished types. Drop on by my page sometime... if perhaps you are stuck in an airport or stalled elevator. My posts are not particularly funny or intelligent, but they are long.

I wanted to dedicate this post to the mommy bloggers (as listed in my daily reads) and LA Daddy who are making me laugh, think and grow just a bit with each post. What a great community in which I have rented a very small, inexpensive, one bdrm, fixer-upper blog site! True it is a good 40 minutes from the upper-class, 300 or so comments for every post, making friends and influencing people, want to be like you and thus be invited to hang out with Hollywood cast and crew uber-bloggers neighborhood that I drive by everyday and wonder why your grass is so much damn greener... but the view from my simple kitchen is nice enough.

I might not ever have an assistant to get me a latte, or run in the power (the Dooce) blogger circles, but I really enjoy my spot in the cheap seats. For those about to blog, I salute you.

Also... poopy diapers, motherhood, marriage, parenting, depression, anti-depressants, beavers and ducks, sesame street and the 4 slice dualit toaster from Williams Sonoma.

...Designed for commercial use, the toaster is hand assembled in England and built to last, with an insulated stainless-steel body, variable controls and automatic turnoff. Rather than popping up, toast stays warm inside for up to ten minutes.
Just gotta fill my toaster envy and blog tag quota. Thank you technorati!
